A Brief History of Chinese Medicine
Chinese Medicine is a natural, holistic treatment methodology that was first developed in China thousands of years ago. Because Acupuncture is so effective, over the course of time, countries all over Asia, including Japan, Thailand, and Korea adopted their own variations of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. Chinese Medicine is more than just Acupuncture, however. Chinese Medicine is actually a very comprehensive plan for maintaining and maximizing your health and wellness. Chinese Medicine has "5 Pillars" or parts, and when all of these parts work in tandem, people experience vibrant health.
Clinically, during your appointment, different pillars are often combined together. This is because the different pillars compliment and re-enforce each other, so when we use a combination of techniques, as necessary and appropriate, patients heal faster and feel amazing at the end of their visits.
